My name is Joe Walter, MD. I am a board-certified ER/ hyperbaric doc in the Twin Cities who’s interested in undersea and hyperbaric medicine. I also have an interest in teaching asynchronous medical education with the philosophy of teaching others to teach themselves.
The purpose of creating this site was to expose those in the acute care setting and those generally interested in diving to our fun little world of dive medicine and hyperbarics.
As for backstory I did med school at Saint Louis University and my EM residency at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN before finishing my hyperbaric fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. I continue to work at both of these locations as well as several community EDs in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
